All the events of the 4th Annual Paper Meet (APM)
and the International Conference will be held at the
Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB), Ramna,
Dhaka and the Conference Hall of Roads and Highways
Department (RHD), Govt. of Bangladesh.
The Venues are located at the heart of the Dhaka
City and are accessible by road transports of any
kind. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. It has
rich historical and cultural background. Dhaka was
first declared capital of Bengal in 1608 A.D. by the
great Mughal Emperior, Jahangeer. Dhaka has a
present population of about 10 million. It has
international Airport located 16 km away from the
venue of the APM. There are Hotels of International
chain and also of modest category. Modern hospitals
& diagnostic centers are open round the clock for
Medicare facilities.
The area of Dhaka city is approximately 815.85 sq.
kilometers. During summer, the maximum & the minimum
temperatures are 36.70C and 21.10C respectively and
during winter the maximum & minimum temperatures are
31.70C and 10.50C respectively. The annual rainfall
is 2540 mm. The climate of Dhaka is tropical.
Dhaka is situated on the bank of the river Buriganga
and there is many other water bodies exist inside
and around Dhaka City. Country boats, engine boats,
steamer and motor launch are available for regular
cruising in the river. The Buriganga River is
flanked by strip of forestry and greenery,
presenting a soothing panoramic view; a sight which
may turn for a while a prosaic mind into poetic one.
